Coming Together to Give Back

In January, a group of our team members rolled up their sleeves and stepped into the kitchen, not for a project deadline or design review, but to give back to our community through Plenty of Plates, a program by A Better Life Foundation. It was a night of teamwork, connection, and purpose, one that reminded us how powerful a shared meal can be.

Hosted at Save-on-Meats in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, Plenty of Plates invites teams to cook, serve, and enjoy dinner with those experiencing food insecurity and social isolation. With support from a professional chef, our Cressey volunteers prepared a three-course meal and served it restaurant-style to over 60 guests, creating not only a warm dinner but a dignified, welcoming experience.

The evening brought out the best of what it means to be part of a team and how meaningful it can be to step outside of your day-to-day routine and participate in something bigger. Whether it’s preparing a meal, lending a hand, or simply showing up for others, volunteering is a chance to connect with your team, your community, and the people around you.

At Cressey, we know that great places begin with people, with the relationships, values, and actions that bring us together. Volunteering with Plenty of Plates was an opportunity to live those values and be reminded of the impact a hot meal can have.

We’re grateful to A Better Life Foundation for the work they do year-round and for welcoming us into their kitchen. It was an experience we won’t forget and one we look forward to doing again.
